On A Morning Such As This

I got to lie in bed an extra hour or so waiting for the sun to rise.  The air is crisp and smells of fall.  I don't have to go into work until afternoon.  It could've been a morning such as this that my dad would've surprised me by showing up to go out for breakfast.  He would've of gotten a paper to read while we waited for our order- two eggs over medium with whole wheat toast.  I would read the funnies and chat about whatever interesting thing that had happened.  We probably would've walked around Tattered Cover and picked out new paperbacks.  When we said good bye he would've squeezed extra tight and want to make sure I was coming home this weekend.
